Q: Will there be a conference this year?

A: The conference has moved to a virtual platform. The MISHRM State Council is committed to providing you with world class education, access to the best suppliers via the exhibit hall and certification credits needed to grow as industry leaders.

In response to COVID-19, we have committed to moving forward with the VIRTUAL conference. We will continue to keep you posted on whether the conference will be live or virtual. We know, either way, it will be an amazing experience.

Q: Who should attend?

A: The conference has something for everyone. Seasoned professionals and also new professionals can benefit from the conference.

Q: What are the future dates of the conference?

A: After a statewide search for best rates, availability, convenience and dates for the future conference, Grand Rapids won the bid and has rolled out the red carpet! The State Conference will be held in Grand Rapids through 2023.

Q: Are you accepting Chapter Ambassadors for the conference?

A: We will send out an email to chapter Presidents calling for chapter nominated volunteers for the conference. Ambassadors that have already registered will be given a partial refund for their participation and those who have not will be given a special discount code to be applied during registration.

In light of the conference moving to virtual, all educational content will still be offered. Breakout sessions will be offered on-demand and a virtual trade show will take place.

Note: The conference is not refundable. If you are unable to attend, you can view all sessions on demand for one year to obtain credit.

Q: What is the deadline to register?

A: Standard registration ends September 25th, 2020. If you register by September 25th you will receive an exclusive conference bag in the mail. If you register past the deadline, conference bags are not guaranteed. For more information click here for attendees and here for exhibitors.

Q: How can registration payments be made?

A: Registration payments can be made online when you register. If you are unable to register online or need to by check, please call the MISHRM office at 844-464-7476

Q: I can only attend part of the conference. Can someone else attend the rest of the event in my place?

A: No, the conference registration is not transferable to other friends or members of your team.

Q: What is the cancellation policy? What if there is an emergency last minute and I cannot attend?

A: The conference is not refundable. If you are unable to attend, you can view all sessions on demand for one year to obtain credit.

Q: What if I am not a SHRM member and I want to join so I can take advantage of the reduced rate?

A: You can use the SHRM website to get more information about becoming a member.

Q: Is Marcus Buckingham speaking?

We've decided to wait and have him live next year!

Q: I was unable to attend a specific education session. How can I get the speakers’ handouts?

A: Speaker handouts will be posted on the conference app or you can reach out to the speaker directly.

Q: Can I go to any education sessions I want? Is pre-registration required?

A: Preregistration is not required for sessions. You can attend any session you would like to attend. Plus, you can attend other sessions later on-demand for a full year.

Q: How do I receive HRCI and/or SHRM credit for the sessions I attend?

A: After the conference, you will receive a survey. Upon the completion of the survey, an email will be sent to you with the appropriate APA, HRCI and SHRM credit codes.

Q: I’d like to plan out my education schedule before I arrive. Is there a tool available to help with that?

A: Yes, this is available on the official conference mobile app downloadable from mobile app stores. The event app will be available approximately 10 days prior to the start of the conference.

Q: What is the refund policy?

A: Exhibitor booth registration and sponsorships is now fully refundable because we moved to a virtual format and/or if you are no longer interested in the format. Instead of a refund, you can also use your 2020 booth payment and lock in your spot at the 2021 conference at the 2020 booth rates. We want to make sure you love the format and are investing in something that will work for you. Cancellation for any other reason will be refundable less a $250 administrative fee before September 1st, 2020.

Q: How can registration payments be made?

A: Registration payments can be made online when you register. If you need to by check, you can produce an invoice and bypass the payment option when you complete the registration process.

Q: What if I don’t want to participate in the virtual platform? What are my options?

A: You can request a refund OR you can keep your payment with us and roll your fees over for the conference next year.
