In just three years’ time, Beam and the AFWERX team turned a Pentagon idea into an actual organization that Fast Company ranked as #16 in the world as a “Best Workplace for Innovators” (out of 865 organizations evaluated). For comparison, Amazon was ranked #18 that year. Beam’s military experiences included teaching at the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Department of Management as well as the National Military Academy of Afghanistan. Coaching youth soccer, being a Cub Scouts den leader, and guiding five kiddos with his wife have also provided many informal insights on individual, team and organizational development (and humor!). Beam currently serves as a Principal at TiER1 Performance consulting.
